On Being Heard

Sometimes we speak or write because we truly have something that others need to hear. And sometimes, it's because we have something we truly need to say. What I am trying to say is... thank you, for hearing me.

I came upon this quote from Rainer Maria Rilke tonight. It could not be more right for this moment in my life if it were written just for me. Isn't it funny how things work out that way? Perhaps it will speak to you, as well.

"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer."
— Rainer Maria Rilke
